A recent study has shed light on the differing effects of fructose and glucose on hunger. Although both sugars may look alike on nutrition labels, their influence on the brain is markedly different.
The research found that glucose significantly reduces the activity of hunger-promoting brain cells, which may explain its more effective role in hunger regulation.
In contrast, fructose was shown to have a much weaker effect on these brain cells, suggesting it does not satisfy hunger in the same way as glucose.
