Research conducted by Chase Foster of King's College London and Jeffry Frieden from Columbia University examines the relationship between unemployment welfare and populism.
The study spans 134 national elections in 16 countries, utilizing data from 11 waves of the European Social Survey, covering the period from 1990 to 2021.
Findings indicate that better unemployment support may play a role in addressing the factors contributing to the rise of populist movements.
